Luxury Resort

La Gomera, Canary Islands

Perched on the dramatic southern cliffs of La Gomera, this resort embraces the wild beauty of one of the Canary Islands’ most unspoiled landscapes.

Outdoor Area | La Gomera | BLINK Design Group

The diverse terrain—from dense, ancient forests to volcanic beaches and towering cliffs—provides both a breathtaking backdrop and a rich palette of inspiration.

Tasked with creating a sanctuary that honours the island’s natural rhythms and resources, we drew upon local stone and landscape features to blur the boundaries between the built and natural environments. With uninterrupted Atlantic views from each of the 160 villas, our design aimed to create a seamless connection between the resort, the rugged landscape, and the endless horizon.

The striking red tones of Tosca Roja, sourced from La Gomera’s northeast coast, became a defining feature of the design. Paired with natural black granite framing the hillside villas, these materials create a harmonious balance—bold yet refined, echoing the volcanic landscape while ensuring durability and elegance. Together, they ground the architecture in the island’s raw beauty, offering guests a constant reminder of their connection to the unique environment.

Drawing further from the island’s natural wonders, the geometric order of the Los Organos cliff formation inspired intricate flooring patterns. Traditional craftsmanship guided the creation of wooden pergolas and wicker roofs, while fast-growing banana plants provided natural shading and privacy. Local succulents, with their vibrant textures and low water needs, were carefully integrated into the landscape, reflecting the resort’s respect for the island’s fragile ecology.

By repurposing excavated stone and soil, we ensured the resort’s foundation remains deeply connected to the land. This sustainable approach reduced waste, preserving the delicate balance of La Gomera’s ecosystem.

Interiors | La Gomera | BLINK Design Group

Inside the villas, minimalism is expressed through the use of earthy tones and handwoven materials, paying homage to La Gomera’s rich artisanal heritage. Natural textures like stone, wood, and woven fibers were thoughtfully combined with simple, elegant forms to create interiors that are not only calming but deeply connected to the island’s character. Subtle details, from handcrafted furniture to locally sourced decor, bring warmth and authenticity to each space, ensuring a sense of harmony with the natural surroundings.
